6. How do I get a prescription?
After you receive an eye exam, your optometrist or ophthalmologist is required by law to provide you with your prescription. Be sure to ask for a clear, legible prescription and your pupillary distance (PD). If you need a new prescription, click here for a list of doctors near you.
7. How do I read my prescription?
8. What is my pupillary distance (PD), and how do I find it?
PD, or Pupillary Distance, is the distance from the center of one pupil to the center of the other pupil. The pupil is the black area in the middle of the eye. This measurement is necessary to the correct positioning of your lenses within the frame you have chosen. We recommend that you ask your doctor for your PD during your eye exam, or you can always stop in one of our stores, and we can take that measurement for you at no charge. Alternatively, you can follow these steps to measure your own PD.
9. Can I use my contact lens prescription for ordering glasses with you?
No. Your prescription for contact lenses will be different from your prescription for glasses. Make sure the prescription you use to order is specifically for glasses.
